On 14 August 2022, as part of Sadhanatara Amrit Mahotsav marking 75 years of Indian independence, the Odisha Sahitya Akademi's Language, Literature & Culture Department joined with the Sindhu-Urmi Sahitya Sansad, Khallikote to hold a Deshabodhak Kavita Pathotsav — a recital of patriotic poetry. Basanta Kumari Samanta recited a self-composed poem at the event and was presented a Samman Sansad, adding a state-level literary honour to a relationship with the Khallikote sabha that would culminate, four years later, in the Sindhu-Urmi Rajarani Samman.
