At its Pratibha Samman - 2005 programme, the Bhubaneswar-based literary forum Swetasanketa Saraswata Mancha conferred its Shreshtha Chitrashilpi Samman (Best Painter Honour) on Basanta Kumari Samanta — documented here by the certificate, the trophy itself, and the invitation to that year's 13th Rajyastariya Saraswata Samaroha where it was presented, one of several honours the Mancha would extend to her through the mid-2000s in recognition of her standing as both a senior painter and a practicing Odia poet.
